The objectives of this research were: (1) to study the current and desired status of education management for enhancing the sustainable innovation ability of college students in Shaanxi Province; (2) to develop educational management strategies for enhancing sustainable innovation ability of college students in Shaanxi province; (3) to evaluate the feasibility and adaptability of educational management strategies for enhancing sustainable innovation ability of college students in Shaanxi province This study employed stratified sampling to select 384 college students for questionnaire surveys, conducted in-depth interviews with 10 experts, organized focus group discussions with 10 experts, and evaluated the developed strategies with 5 experts. All participating experts had more than five years of experience in higher education management and were familiar with college development plans, teaching management practices, and students’ specific status.The research instruments included questionnaires, interview form, educational management strategies, and evaluation form. Data were analyzed using percentages, means, standard deviations, the Modified Priority Needs Index (PNI_modified), and content analysis. The results revealed that the current and desired status of education management for the sustainable innovation ability of college students consisted of three essential aspects: personal traits, the educational and learning environment, and social and external factors, all of which were necessary for development. Based on these findings, educational management strategies were developed, including a clear vision, mission, goals, measures and guidelines for implementing strategies in educational institutions, as well as three strategic dimensions and corresponding measures, including strategies to promote the development of personal traits, optimize the educational and learning environment, and enhance support from social and external factors. Furthermore, the evaluation results indicated that the feasibility and adaptability of the proposed educational management strategies were at high and highest levels, respectively.
